Farewell Feagles

I actually feel like a piece of me died when I heard Jeff Feagles is retiring. I was never a fan of any of the teams he played for, especially since two of those teams were the Giants and Eagles, but somehow, the NFL just won't be the same.
Feagles, 44, played in the league for 22 years and recently told nfl.com the following:
"I just got out of bed, and the good Lord told me and sent me a sign that day and said: 'You know what? You're done! You're finished!'" Feagles said. "I just didn't feel good. My back was hurting. My knee was starting to swell up again, and I said to myself I can't do this anymore. That's when I decided to start the coffee pot. It was quick."
 You may be asking why I'm getting so emotional about a punter retiring, especially one who played for the enemy, so let's get to the real issue. A friend of mine told me Feagles is the last player left from Tecmo Super Bowl, and now he's gone.
I played hours and hours of that game, and now, all those hours are becoming more and more of a faded memory, and next year, there will be nothing of those memories left.
Think about that for a second. There were 28 teams at the time, and of all the players for all those teams, not one is left. Come on, you have to admit, that's kind of sad.
I guess it's kind of ironic he ended his career as a Giant, and that's the team featured on the cover....Fine, maybe not quite ironic, just a coincidence. 
Anyway,who was the last one to talk to Vinny Testaverde? Any chance of getting him back in New York? Anybody?  Shoot.
Can someone get Steve Deberg on the phone, and ask him if he's interested in backing up Peyton Manning?
Manning's old backup Jim Sorgi left to replace Feagles as the holder on field goals, so hey, that would be a great fit. Although, I do find it interesting that Sorgi left one Manning for another.
Seriously though, get Deberg on the phone now.
We do wish Feagles the best and even as a Cowboys fan, it's hard to see you go, mainly because I can't think of a time when you weren't in the league. Maybe your retirement will set an example for quarterbacks that don't know how to make that tough decision.
