That being said, I tried coming up with top 10 funniest interviews but I couldn't do it without stretching too much. There are a bunch of baseball managers who lose it on the field and that's funny stuff but that doesn't happen in interviews. Take a look:
8. Bob Knight: "That's a ***** question."
Knight didn't necessarily make a fool of himself here and that's why it's at the No. 8 spot. He is pretty funny here though.
7. Terrell Owens,"That's my quarterback."
T.O. must have been hoping the sun glasses would cover up the tears. He's a crier and has been his whole career. Who can forget when he cried for Tony Romo?
6. Herm Edwards, "You play to win the game."
This is one of those on the Coors commercials which I hate. Again, how can you screw this one up? Well Coors did, so congrats on that. I don't think this one will be forgotten any time soon.
5. Mike Gundy, "I'm a man, come after me."
Oklahoma Coach Mike Gundy went crazy about something written in the paper. You can give him props for defending his student athletes but this is funny nonetheless.
4. Allen Iverson, "We're talking about practice."
There's been a lot of talk about this one since he retired and came back again. However, I do think Iverson will be remembered for this one more than a hall of fame career.
3. Jim Mora: "Playoffs?"
Likely the most famous press conference ever. People will quote it even if they don't know who said it. Mora tells the press with his squeaking voice not to talk about playoffs. Gotta love it.
2. Dennis Green, "They are who we thought they were."
I remember that game like it were yesterday. Then I kept the TV on and saw the press conference live and couldn't stop laughing. I guess it goes to show that Dennis Green is who we thought he was. He's not getting off the hook though, he's No. 2 on this list.
1. Joe Namath, "I just want to kiss you."
The video says it all. It doesn't get much funnier than a drunk Joe Namath telling Suzy Kolber he wants to kiss her.
