Week 3 (Late) Reaction

Alright, no beating around the bush here. What the heck were the Seahaws wearing? It looks like a green lime shirt on top of a dark green shirt. Other than that, I can think of a single word to describe how ugly those things are.

At least they weren't wearing those in the same game where the refs wore their throwback uniforms. Those things look like something from Whataburger. During that Monday night game, I referred to them as the "Whatarefs".

Congratulations are in order for the Detroit Lions who won their first game since 2007 after knocking of the Redskins. It'd be great to see the reaction of Danny Snyder to that one.

The Cowboys' win was an ugly one, but a win nonetheless. Although, like I've been saying all along, I think they abandoned the run way too early. Why the heck did they try throwing to fades back to back from the Panthers 1-yard line? Felix Jones was on a roll and could have easily gotten at least inches from the end zone, at least close enough to justify going for it on 4th down. That was another thing, they should have gone for it on 4th. If they hadn't of gotten it, Carolina would have started at their own 1. I have a hard time seeing that Panther offense drive it 99 yards. Romo didn't throw any touchdowns, but at least he didn't throw any interceptions either. I'll take that any day of the week if it means the W.

Oh, back to Seattle, don't ever wear those uniforms again.

Catch up

It's about time I get caught up with everything in the sports world, and well, life in general (as if there's anything in life outside of sports). I just moved to Baytown, Texas to start my new job where I write for the Baytown Sun. You can catch up on the podcast but that's enough about me, let's catch up.

Week one of the NFL, Romo set a career high of 350 passing yards and hit three different receivers for a touchdown.

Week two of the NFL, Romo threw three interceptions. He was off and it's what cost the game against the Giants in the Cowboys home opener in their new $1.2 billion stadium.

Week three of the NFL, the Cowboys are set to host the Carolina Panthers on Monday night. Man, better pray for a win. Who wants to lost their first two games in the place? Makes you wonder if Jerry Jones' focus is on the stadium itself, and not the team. The Cowboys will be in a lot of trouble if they lose. They're in one of the toughest divisions in the league, so if they get behind, it's going to be hard to catch up.

The secondary has a ton of holes. Eli Manning tour it apart without any big name receivers. Offensively, they have to run the ball more. With three solid running backs, why in the world would you look anywhere else. Just pound the ball down the defenses' throats. They seem to abandon the run way too quickly. Hopefully the stick to what works, running.

At least the 'Boys are in better shape than the Lions who are trying to snap a 19 game winning streak. They're hosting the Redskins and see a great opportunity to do so.

McNabb went down, and the Eagles are copying the Bucs by stacking the roster with quarterbacks. They recently brought Jeff Garcia back so he could take be under center in Philly, as could Kevin Kolb and Michael Vick.

Speaking of quarterbacks, college football's best, Tim Tebow went down. He was out cold and head coach Urban Meyer went into the stands to tell Tebow's parents about his son's condition. The Gators have off week five of college football so that will give Tebo plenty of time to nurse his injuries. Not to underplay the injury, but I'd be shocked if he missed more than two games.

It's been sad seeing the Rangers tank. There was so much hope for so long, and now, nothing. I guess that's what I get for being a Rangers fan. Well, I guess I'll have to once again, say there's always next year, but until then, we're still near the beginning of what I hope to be a great football season. Maybe the Cowboys can actually win a couple games. We'll find out if Tony Romo can get the monkey off his back. Oh yeah, please Marion, come back.
