The Bucket List

After graduating recently, I was thrilled I could cross something else off my list. You know, my bucket list. I began thinking of other things I plan to accomplish in my life, and I realized something; most of the things I plan to do are sports related.

Obviously I plan on becoming a sports journalist of some kind and don't exactly consider that crossed off my list just yet. I want to go to Fenway Park and Lambeau Field. I want to cover the Super Bowl, the World Series, the Final Four, the NBA finals and of course the college football national championship game along with many other games.

I want to be in a ballpark during a no hitter. I would love to catch a foul ball or a home run ball at a major league game. Speaking of which, did you see that kid at the Red Sox Rangers game who caught two foul balls from Josh Hamilton? That's something that kid won't be forgetting anytime soon. I want to go to Cooperstown.

A few other things on the list that aren't necessarily sports related are the following: I want to go to the White House. Maybe I can even play some T-ball on the lawn. I want travel to all 50 states. Heck, I 'd like to go to every stadium or ballpark at least in a single league. Alright, sorry that one is sports related obviously, but you see my point? Just about everything I hope to do is somehow centered around the world of sports. I want to write a book (may or may not be about sports).

When all said and done, the world in sports has made my life that much better and provides that much more to shoot for before it's too late. There's always something more to come.

Stolen Bases

Will Michael Vick be used only as a backup to McNabb or will he be used at other positions as well? Will he be anything like kordell Stewart? >>>
Will they use him in a wildcat formation?

The fact Vick is now an Eagle gives me all the more reason to dislike both. I don't think it was a good move for Philly seeing as Vick has been out for two full seasons so he's going to be rusty to say the least then you have to factor in the fact he has to learn a new playbook. Yes I know he's a backup but you don't know what the guy is capable of doing anymore. That's just the football standpoint. You can form your own opinion about his off the field issues.

Speaking of quarterbacks, I know it's old now, but what is Vince Young thinking? He said he'll be the next black quarterback to win the Super Bowl and he will be in the Hall of Fame." Hey Vince, you're a backup. Before focusing on the Super Bowl and the Hall, focus on becoming a starter. Who talks about the hall while playing anyway? Does that not show your priorities are in the wrong spot? These Texas boys sure aren't giving us a good name. Hopefully Colt will have success in the NFL, but of course, he's got to focus on his senior year.

In baseball, the Red Sox and Rangers are in a heated battle for the wildcard and the teams are going head to head in their final game of a three-game series. Game two saw the Rangers steal eight bases. Julio Bordon and Elvis Andrus had seven stolen bases between the two of them, helping set the club record and the tie the record for any team this MLB season. The Rangers are hoping the bases aren't the only thing they steal from the Red Sox. They have their eye on that wild card.
