Lost its Magic

Even in fairy tales can the magic run out. Cinderella only has so many slippers and none of them would have fit Dwight Howard anyway. The Lakers are looking to redeem themselves after losing to Boston in the NBA finals. Orlando couldn't do anything right. Offensively they were forcing shots and couldn't grab an offensive board. Defensively, well, the 100-75 final score says it all.

The determination will probably give LA enough motivation to suck all the magic out of Orlando and give Kobe his fourth ring and first without that O'Neal kid from LSU. How ironic, Orlando was the team that drafted O'Neal where he lost his first NBA title. I say the Lakers take it in five games.

Magic had little to do with the Big Unit winning his 300th game. It probably had to do more with hard work and the fact he's been playing for a while. The 14 of the 27 people in attendance said they fell asleep. Three of them were National fans and were hoping for a Washington victory somewhere and were disappointed they didn't get it here. Johnson said afterwards he's only 215 victories shy of Cy Young's record. In all seriousness though, that's a heck of an accomplishment and congratulations are in order for the Big Unit.

Apparently, Canada plays this game on frozen water. The funny thing is the two last teams are American teams. Despite the fact it's known for a Canadian game, Canada only claims six of the 30 teams. One of the best things about America is sports. The best thing for Canada is they're close to the US.

So as the NHL and NBA seasons wind down and baseball unfolds, we'll see how much of the so-called "magic" will last. Alright, alright, the magic is gone and teams are in need of a miracle.
