Best in the West

Repeat after me: "The Rangers are leading the AL West". Yeah, that's weird but true. Their actually fun to watch, both offensively and defensively. I was at Friday night's game where they struggled closing in the ninth but they looked great other than that. Ian Kinsler homered twice and set up a beautiful double play. Josh Hamilton homered and had a made a great throw to home plate for the out. Sunday he also had a great catch along the wall to rob the Angels of a home run.I know, I know, the question is, how long will this last? Will they be this years Rays or will they go through the same routine and take a fall after the All-Star break? More than likely, it'll be the second one but it's always fun to dream.

Speaking of Texas teams, there are no more left in the NBA playoffs after the Mavs fell to Denver and the Lakers knocked off the Rockets. I never know who to pull for when Artest goes up against Kobe. Is there any way you can call the foul on both of them on the same play and kick them out? Hey Artest, about that rap album, you've got time. I just wonder if Mark Cuban will still trash talk the moms of the Nugget players through his blog, twitter or facebook.

With four teams left, LA is set to take on Denver and Cleveland's set to take on Orlando. THe Nuggets and Lakers series is a tossup but Orlando will need a little more than Magic to beat King James and the Cavs. Like everybody else, at the beginning of the playoffs, I predicted a Cavs-Lakers finals and I like to stick with my predictions so I'll do just that. The Cavs will beat the Magic in five and the Lakers will need all seven. The NBA Finals Champions will be.....wait, that will be revealed later.

So another book about steroids? Is this going to be the next trend? You know, when a popular movie comes out, more movies like it follow. We had Dante's Peak and Volcano. There was the Sixth Sense followed by the Others, there, well you get the idea. Who's going to write the book revealing Jeter's been juicing?

Well at least for now, we can enjoy a Manny-less league and hope for the best, or most unlikely, like, say the Rangers actually winning the AL West.  Yeah, I will keep dreaming.
