Future of Bowls

What's wrong with college football besides the fact there's no playoff system? Well, for one, there are way too many bowl games. Remember when there were just a few and it was more of an honor to make one? Those days are long gone. When watching sports, how many commercials do you see for male enhancement pills? Way too many for sure.

One thing that concerns me is the fear of the way too many bowl games combining with those disgusting commercials. I mean think about it, how long until we have a Viagra Bowl? The slogan and joke possibilities are endless and extremely disturbing but if you think it's a stretch, think again. A lot of parents today are concerned with having to answer questions while watching a ball game because of the commercials but they shouldn't have to worry about it? Fans deserve better then that.

Janet Jackson's wardrobe malfunction a few years ago and T.O.'s Monday Night introduction were bad enough. People shouldn't have to turn the channel in order to avoid that just to find a bunch of old geezers sitting in a circle singing about a pill. Yeah, that's disturbing on so many levels and it's so scary because it's so realistic.

There was once a time when it was considered unethical to show a bed for two people in room. That rule was broken and eventually slowly evolved into what we see on TV today. So if you take what is going on now and see how far you can push the envelope, is it really stretch to say there may one day be the Viagra Bowl or Victoria Secret Bowl? We already have far to many of bowls. I'm just praying for playoffs.
