College upsets/ NFLWeek 4

What a week it was for college football where upsets became the story. The rankings have been shattered after Oregon State knocked of No. 1 USC and Alabama beat beat No. 3 Georgia. Did you see that game between Florida and Ole Miss? Michigan beat Wisconsin. The fourth ranked Gators went down at home to an unranked team and Houston destroyed the No. 23 East Carolina.

Alright, from college to pro:

As a Cowboys fan, I'm stinking excited. Yet I'm nervous. I love all this talk about them being the best team in the league and yet, some how I hate all the talk at the same time. It's what makes me nervous. Putting all the pressure on the Boys may give them a boost but of course, it could always go the total opposite way. The Pats obviously weren't using their cameras when Brady went down or it wouldn't ever have happened. When Brady went down, the Patriots Chances of another Super Bowl went down with him. Something similar can happen with the Boys.

Millen's gone. Linehan and Kifflin will be soon. Hey last I knew, Denny "they are who we thought they were" Green is available. I can see Green coaching in St. Louis or Oakland. (If you're a fan of one of these teams, I don't mean to jinx you.)

We've got a great Sunday of football in front of us. We've got the battle of Ohio which if it's anything like last year, there will be a lot of scoring. We've got Bay Watch (Packers and Bucs) and we've got the best rivalry in the game between the Cowboys and Redskins. Since the games are only about 12 hours away and I forgot to give you my picks, let's do that. Here are my wrongful predictions for week 4:

WSH- 9/22-9/28

Weekly Sports History is back. Speaking of history, the Yankees had an emotional ceremony as they played their last game in their home stadium of 85 years. Dang it. I never got to watch a game there. Well, hopefully I'll get to go to Fenway, and Lambeau, and the list goes on. Let's jump in to WSH.

9/24/1991 - Deion Sanders leaves Braves to report to the Atlanta Falcons

25/09/1908 - Cubs' Ed Reulbach becomes only pitcher to throw doubleheader shutout.
9/25/1981 - Nolan Ryan's 5th career no-hitter as Astros beat Dodgers 5-0
9/25/1982 - Northwestern ends 34 football game losing streak by beating Norther Illinois 31-6
9/25/1984 - NY Met Rusty Staub joins Ty Cobb, to hit HRs as a teen and in 40s.
9/28/1941 - Ted Williams ended the baseball season with .406 batting avg
9/28/1951 - Rams' Norm Van Brocklin passes for NFL-record of 554 yards
9/28/1955 - First World Series color TV broadcast on NBC-TV (Yanks beat Dodgers)
9/28/1960 - Ted Williams hits his final homer #521 (off Jack Fisher)

Changing of the guard

Remember when the NFC had that long 13 year streak of winning the Super Bowl? John Elway's Broncos broke that and ever since then, it's been back and forth but the AFC has been up on the NFC. I think that's changing now.

We all know what happened in last year. The team that won it all happens to be an NFC. Tom Brady is now hurt. Peyton Manning wishes he was playing like his younger brother. About that, what is going on with the Colts?

Who ever thought the AFC divisional leaders would be the Bills, Titans (with Collins) Ravens and Broncos?

The NFC East is by far the toughest division in football. In the North, the Vikings benched Jackson for Gus Frerotte. That's a sign that things must be going bad. The Bucs are a surprise out of the south and the west is a joke.

With all this happening, the strongest and most consistent teams are in the NFC. Every team in the east is dangerous as are the Packers and the Bucs can do some damage.

Detroit fans are calling for Matt Millen's head and Al Davis is calling for Kiffin's. Hey Al, you can't keep firing coaches. They can't get the job done if you don't give them a chance.

Davis must be off his rocker because he's been going through head coaches like paper towels. Maybe his next call will be to Daniel Snyder to see if he's willing to part with that Cruise guy. Do you think St. Louis will ever get a pro football team again?
